MIAMI — Atlanta Hawks coach Mike Budenholzer was suspended for one game without pay Saturday for bumping an official during the Cavs’ 135-130 victory there Friday night.
Budenholzer was furious that LeBron James was not called for an offensive foul late in the third quarter, and made contact with a referee while arguing at 2:42 of the period. He was assessed a technical, and NBA executive vice president Kiki VanDeWeghe announced the suspension Saturday.
For what it’s worth, Kyrie Irving hit the technical foul shot.
Budenholzer will not coach the Hawks’ game Sunday against the Pacers. According to the league, Budenholzer also bumped a ref in November of last season in a game against Cleveland.
